Living with your Own ideas_
what about self-perception?
Teacher : Oscar Tomico
After delving deeper into the First Person Perspective, I decided to reflect on how to incorporate this concept into my daily practice. Consequently, I established a new habit: using it as a tool to stay present and enhance my creative process. Through this exploration, I've crafted tools to make my process more authentic.
One of the mini-hacks I developed is utilizing black sheets of paper and a white pen for my learning notes. In my experience, this approach enhances my focus, and around these notes, I create and generate new languages—be it through organic lines or key systems to better comprehend my own annotations. Through this practice, my ideas flow more smoothly and with increased focus.
Through their bodies, they narrate their connection with the environment, their interaction with other organisms, and how ancient cultures established their relationship with the external world. This was often expressed through meditation, raising their hair towards the sky as a communication antenna with the divine. The concept of hair as antennas is present in many organisms, but in the human body, this system appears to be increasingly dormant.

During my travels in China over the past 6 years, I've consistently been intrigued by the presence of altars in various workplace settings. Particularly, when walking through factories, it's common to come across small altars adorned with candles, fruits, and incense. It seems as if, amid their long workdays, individuals take a moment to connect with the image of the god of abundance. From small-scale factories to more formal factories, these altars are a constant presence amidst materials, machines, and boxes.
Ritualizing their workspace serves as motivation to persevere through long days. This leads me to contemplate how ritualizing the labor process can make it more manageable and authentic. How could you incorporate rituals into your own creative endeavors?
"Smell Maker Spaces For 24 Hours"**
**Non-Verbal Ritual**
This video captures my personal exploration over 24 hours. It involves a non-verbal ritual of smelling everything I touch before using it. This practice serves as a tool to draw attention to the present moment during my work hours of learning, creating my own space and movements that ritualize each moment for enhanced focus.
Diving into the First-Person Perspective prompted me to reflect on its application in my daily life, resulting in the establishment of a new habit. By using this perspective as a tool, I focus on the present and facilitate my creative process. Through exploration, I've crafted tools that not only foster authenticity and creative flow but also awaken a deeper connection with our surroundings and ourselves. This approach empowers me, discovering playful shortcuts as symbols of the commitment to staying attentive and present in an increasingly digital world.
Feeling supported by the principles I've learned has reignited my curiosity, leading me to transform each moment and seize the present. This shift has significantly influenced my way of working. Starting with the black sheets was a crucial step to feel comfortable in my learning process. Now, I am more aware of how I can enhance my empowerment in each phase. I'm also more present with the question, "How can I further empower myself in my processes?" After this seminar, I began reading the book "The Creative Act: A Way of Being" by Rick Rubin, deepening my approach to authenticity.
Exploring new ways to observe my own 1st person perspective takes me down unfamiliar paths to engage with and examine my own frictions. I believe this approach will provide me with genuine insights and help me exercise my creativity to tackle challenges with a broader perspective. This experience not only impacts my present but also lays the groundwork for a future career where my ability to approach challenges with an open and creative mind will be a crucial asset.
After watching the videos of my colleagues, I couldn't help but feel more inspired seeing each creative individual empowering themselves with new languages. One of the languages that particularly caught my attention was Ana's use of emojis and the interpretation of each user, as well as how digital totems could be seen as icons of rituals in cyberspace. I relate these concepts to my design space, exploring new languages and narratives for creation. Witnessing these innovative approaches has broadened my understanding of the design space collective, presenting new opportunities and sparking ideas for collaborative endeavors where diverse languages and narratives can intersect to create something truly unique and impactful.
